About Book For Look

Book For Look is a marketplace, not a salon. We do not employ stylists or own premises. The businesses listed on the platform are independent salons, barbers, spas and clinics; each one sets its own services, prices and opening hours, and performs the service itself.

What we provide is the platform between the two: discovery and search for customers, a booking and scheduling system for businesses, online payment collection, notifications and receipts for both sides, and customer support when something goes wrong.

We earn revenue in two ways, both disclosed before money changes hands. A platform fee may be added to a customer’s booking — it is itemised at checkout before the customer confirms, and is sometimes waived. Separately, a commission is deducted from the business’s earnings on bookings taken through the platform, at a rate set by the subscription plan that business is on. Businesses see their earnings, the commission and their payout schedule in their own dashboard.

This is the complete customer journey on Book For Look, in the order a customer experiences it.

1. 1. Search

   A customer browses by category, service or city — hairdressers, barbers, women’s salons, spas, nail studios, piercing and aesthetic clinics. Every listing shows the business’s services, prices, opening hours, photos and customer reviews.

2. 2. Choose a business and a service

   They open a business page and pick the services they want. Each service shows its price and how long it takes, so the total and the end time are known before anything is booked.

3. 3. Pick a specialist and a time

   They choose a staff member if the business offers a choice, then a date and a time from that business’s real availability. Slots already taken are not offered.

4. 4. Confirm and pay

   They review the full cost — services, any platform fee, any wallet credit or promotion applied — then choose to pay online or in person, and confirm. The booking is created and confirmation is sent immediately.

Confirmation. The appointment appears immediately under My Bookings in the customer’s account and in the Book For Look app, and a confirmation is sent by email and by push notification. The business receives the booking in its own dashboard and confirms it. The customer is notified again at that point, and reminded before the appointment.

The appointment. The customer attends the business at the address shown on its page and the service is performed in person. Nothing is shipped — see our Shipping & Delivery Policy.

Afterwards. The customer can leave a rating and review, which appears on the business’s page for other customers. Cancellations and refunds are governed by our Cancellation and Refund Policy, which sets out how much is returned and how quickly.

At the final step of a booking the customer chooses one of two ways to pay. Both are offered on the same screen, before the booking is confirmed.

What the gateway is used for. The online payment gateway is used for exactly one purpose: collecting the amount due for a booking made on Book For Look, at the moment the customer confirms that booking. It is not used for subscriptions, donations, or any charge the customer has not just agreed to on screen. Refunds, where our Cancellation and Refund Policy provides for one, are returned through the same channel the payment arrived on, or as credit to the customer’s Book For Look wallet.

Wallet and promotions. Customers may hold credit in a Book For Look wallet — from a refund, a referral or a promotion. Any credit applied is shown as a separate line at checkout and reduces the amount charged. If credit covers the booking in full, no online payment is taken.

• Every amount — services, platform fee, wallet credit, total — is itemised before the customer confirms.

Salons, barbers, spas and clinics join Book For Look to take bookings online, manage their calendar and staff, collect payments and reach new customers. Listings are reviewed before they go live, and each business verifies its identity before it can receive payouts.
